7 certified ScrumMasters to boost Agile software project management

Houston Certified ScrumMasters November, 2012

Entrance has added 7 new ScrumMasters to its Agile Software Project Management arsenal.

At Entrance, we believe our success relies on great People, Process and Tools. We already had a few ScrumMasters on our team, but with the amount of impact agile project management has had on many of our clients’ projects, we decided to invest in our people and further expand on a successful process with certified ScrumMaster training for our best and brightest. What is a ScrumMaster?

How do our clients benefit from Agile Software Project Management?

  • Prioritized delivery of functionality
One of the largest pains of some software projects is the wait felt before tangible value is delivered. Scrum methodology guides teams to focus on what really matters most by providing a method to discuss prioritization productively in the context of both changing needs and a controlled scope.
  • Continued visibility into project progress
Inclusion of client project owners in the scrum team provides continual progress updates and visibility into project status. Customers who want to be kept abreast of the latest have full insight into their team’s ongoing focus and a place at the table at all times during the project.
  • Scope control via prioritization and ROI
Scope creep can run software project teams into the ground and cause projects to be consistently 90% done, but never reach the finish line. ScrumMasters help control scope creep and ensure a focus on deliverable software by managing stacks of prioritized and estimated requirements intelligently.
  • Course correction to match changing needs
Continued focus on changing client needs and priorities causes the end result to be a solution they want now, not what they wanted 6 months ago. Project success centers around customer satisfaction with delivered functionality rather than than requirements checked off a list, and scrum keeps client before paperwork.

Note: Not every project is right for an agile methodology, and many of our customers choose to remain on a waterfall methodology. At Entrance our focus is to use the right tool on the right project, delivering what our clients want by asking the right questions to understand what the most successful match is to their business needs. We’ve seen great successes with Agile, and look forward to advising companies on their best way forward.

Meet our new ScrumMasters!
