Dual Completion

A dual completion refers to a well that simultaneously drains two reservoirs of oil or gas at different depths with the production from each zone separated by tubing.

How it’s important to us

It is mostly relevant to us in nomenclature, in that a dual completion well would actually have two different completions, usually suffixed with a “DXX” where “XX” is a number.  Also interesting to note that a single well can span multiple reservoirs and produce hydrocarbons from both at the same time.
